Smokehouse Brewpub is a proposed restaurant with an on-site craft brewery and the first of its kind in Minneapolis in nearly 11 years. The brewpub will be located on the NW corner of 38th St. E and 28th Ave S., in what's known as the Oak Building. Our aim is to be a comfortable neighborhood hangout and an anchor business in the 38th St. Station area. The concept of the brewpub is a menu of sandwiches and entrees based on our house-smoked, locally sourced meats, with high quality craft beer to match. The atmosphere will be cozy and classy, with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. There will be 20 bar seats, 55 dining seats and 40 outdoor seats during patio season. We hope to be the authentic pub the neighborhood is looking for, and can take pride in. Realizing that one of the main challenges for any restaurant is hiring good management, we have assembled an experienced three person owner/manager team. Each will be responsible for a main section of the brewpub. The brewer, the chef, and the front of house manager will all be owners and manage their areas. This owner/manager structure enables us to tightly control management and labor costs. In addition, each manager will help in areas where help is needed, further contributing to controlling costs. We believe that this structure will ensure our success. If things stay on track, we’ll be pouring craft beer for our neighbors next spring!
